A science-based training to
restore confidence, focus, and freedom on stage.
Creative FLOW
for Performing Musicians
Stop self-doubt. Start Flow.
Music shouldn’t feel like suffering.
Performing musicians are among the most dedicated and disciplined people you’ll ever meet — yet also among the most exhausted.
Burnout, stage fright, perfectionism, self-doubt.*
Not because they lack strength — but because they carry too much of it, for too long.
Studies show that musicians face anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion up to three times more often than the general population.
This isn’t weakness. It’s the crisis of our profession.
*Studies show musicians face anxiety, depression and suicidal rumination at far higher rates than the general population. This isn’t weakness — it’s the crisis of our profession.
Built on science.
Proven in sound.
Stop fighting symptoms. Fix the pattern.
Practicing more doesn’t fix stage fright. Motivation hacks don’t cure burnout.
Because the real problem isn’t effort — it’s patterns.
Mental loops that once helped you succeed but now hold you back.
When you understand and change those patterns, you restore what matters most:
Flow. Confidence. Ease.
The Creative FLOW Method™
A structured 8-week training for performing musicians.
Each week combines a live group session (100 minutes), a workbook, and guided reflections — designed to help you build mental strength without losing artistic sensitivity.
You’ll learn how to:
regulate stage anxiety without suppressing it
prevent burnout and emotional exhaustion
reconnect with your artistic joy and motivation
perform with confidence, calm, and flow
Developed by a German psychologist (M.Sc.) and musician, blending CBT, psychodynamic, systemic and mindfulness-based methods.
Why it works
As both a psychologist and a professional musician, I’ve seen the same patterns across hundreds of artists:
They don’t need more motivation — they need precision. Tools that actually fit. Methods that respect both the science and the soul of music.
That’s what my course delivers — clear, structured, evidence-based training that helps performing musicians regain their mental balance and creative flow.
To ensure both focus and depth, each cohort is limited to 10 musicians.
This size allows for genuine peer support, space for individual reflection, and time to address personal questions — without losing the group’s shared momentum.
It’s a balance between collective growth and personal attention — exactly what real change requires.
“For the first time in months, I actually enjoyed being on stage again — not because I practiced more, but because my mind stopped working against me.”
— Jacques, professional bassist

Proof from stage and studio
“As a signed artist I constantly struggled with deadlines, procrastination, and facing uncomfortable tasks. What stood out with Tobias was how quickly I felt understood — not just on the surface, but in the deeper patterns behind my struggles. Only after that, he gave me practical strategies I could actually use in my daily routine. That combination of depth and clear tools made me feel both seen and supported in a way I hadn’t experienced before.”
— Johanna, singer
“Working with Tobias gave me clarity and tools that I now use every day. It made me feel more confident and in control of my career.
— Paul, drummer
“I used to procrastinate on the things that mattered most. With Tobias I found ways to structure myself (focus on what matters!) and actually get things done with more ease — and without burning out.”
— Heinrich, singer-songwriter

FAQs
-
Professional and aspiring musicians who feel stuck in cycles of burnout, stage fright, perfectionism, or creative block. If you’ve tried motivation hacks or practiced harder without lasting results, this course is for you.
-
You’ll join a small group of max. 10 performing musicians for 8 weeks of structured mental performance training — led live by Tobias Dolle (M.Sc. psychologist & musician).
Each week includes:
• One 100-minute live group session on Jitsi — combining evidence-based input, guided reflection, and group discussion.
• A weekly workbook with short psychological tools, journaling prompts, and practical exercises to integrate what you’ve learned.
• Individual feedback opportunities within the group — space for personal questions and real-life application to your creative and performance challenges.
• Ongoing peer connection in a moderated Telegram group — a confidential space to share experiences, ask questions, and stay accountable between sessions.
-
The program is designed for working musicians — it fits into a busy rehearsal and performance schedule.
You’ll spend around 2 hours per week:
• 100 minutes for the live group session
• 10 to 15 minutes for workbook reflections and personal practice
Consistency matters more than time.
The structure is light enough to stay realistic — but deep enough to create measurable change in how you perform, recover, and relate to your craft.
-
Most “performance coaching” gives you quick hacks: breathe deeper, think positive, push harder. That may help for a while — but it doesn’t solve the real problem.
This course is different because:
Evidence-based psychology. I’m not just a coach. I’m a German clinical psychologist (M.Sc.), trained in psychodynamic psychology, mindfulness research, and modern behavioral methods. Every tool in this course is grounded in clinical psychology, not in guesswork.
Built for musicians. I’ve lived both worlds: professional jazz musician and mental health expert. The tools are designed around the real pressures of auditions, gigs, deadlines, and creative block
Structured, not scattered. You don’t get a list of random tricks. You follow a clear path — from relief, to self-insight, to change, to long-term integration.
Patterns, not symptoms. Most advice treats surface issues (stage fright, procrastination). We go deeper: into the mental loops and Flow Blocks that create those symptoms. Change those patterns, and everything else begins to move.
So if you want motivational fluff, this isn’t for you. If you want a precise and connection-based, psychology-backed system tailored to performing musicians — this is the first and so far only program of its kind.
-
Yes — and for many musicians, that’s a helpful combination.
This program is not therapy. It won’t replace working with your therapist. But it complements therapy extremely well, because it gives you practical, evidence-based tools you can apply directly in practice, rehearsals, and on stage.
If you’re currently in therapy or coaching:
Talk to your therapist/coach before starting.
Many participants find that the insights and tools from this course actually make their therapy sessions more effective, because they come in with new awareness and language for their struggles.
Think of it like this: therapy helps you heal. This course helps you perform and create in flow. Together, they reinforce each other.
-
No. If you’re struggling with depression, trauma, or severe anxiety you need therapy. That’s not what this is.
This program is psychology-based performance and creativity training for musicians — with a specific focus on mental health–adjacent areas such as perfectionism, motivation, focus, confidence, and emotional regulation.
It’s evidence-informed and designed to help you understand your mental patterns, reduce Flow Blocks, and perform with greater ease and clarity.
If you’re in therapy already, great — many participants find the tools here accelerate their progress. If you’re unsure what’s right for you, just ask me. I’ll tell you straight whether this program makes sense for your situation.
-
What if I miss a session?
Life happens — and that’s built into the design.
If you miss a live session, you’ll still receive all materials and exercises for that week, so you can keep up with the group.
In addition, there’s a quarterly catch-up session, exclusively for current and past participants.
You can join once to revisit a missed topic, ask questions, or reconnect with the group process.
This way, you stay on track — without losing access or momentum.
-
Each group has a maximum of 10 musicians — small enough to stay personal, big enough to feel community. Sessions are live and interactive: I’ll guide you through tools, answer questions, and connect the material to your real challenges.
And no — you never have to share more than you want. Many musicians already benefit just by listening.
Think of it as a safe space: professional input, real interaction, and a community that understands the pressures you face.
-
That’s the right question to ask.
Most musicians I meet have already tried the usual things — practicing harder, watching YouTube hacks, or reading self-help books — and nothing really changed for long.
This program takes a different route.
Before changing behaviour, we look at how your mind works under pressure — your patterns, beliefs, and creative reflexes.
Once you understand those mechanisms, the right tools actually start to work.
The process is structured but flexible:
short modules, practical exercises you can use in daily practice, and guided group sessions to help you apply them in real time.
You won’t need to overhaul your life — just bring openness and curiosity.
Results often start small but tangible — a bit more focus, a calmer performance, a new way to recover after setbacks.
Does it work for everyone?
No program in the world does.
But if you’re ready to reflect, experiment, and stay engaged, the chances are high that it will make a real difference for you.
And if not, you risk nothing.
