One proven tool. Every two weeks.

Musicians aren’t weak. They’re extremely competent, creative, committed. But discipline can hide the real struggles: burnout, stage fright, crippling perfectionism, self-doubt*. So they push through, procrastinate or look for quick hacks. But practicing more doesn’t cure stage fright. Motivation tips don’t fix burnout.

Because the real problem isn’t effort. The real problem is patterns. Change those mental loops – and you unlock flow, confidence and ease.

*Studies show musicians face anxiety, depression and suicidal rumination at far higher rates than the general population. This isn’t weakness — it’s the crisis of our profession.

“For the first time in months, I actually enjoyed being on stage and practicing again. Not because I practiced more, I believe, but because my mind and perfectionism stopped working against me.”

— Jaques, professional bassist

That’s why I created the Creative FLOW Method™ — to fix the pattern, not just the symptom.

You don’t need more motivation. You need a method.

The Creative FLOW Method™ is the first evidence-based training built for musicians’ mental health.

Instead of random hacks, you start with precision: the 7-minute Creative Type Test™ pinpoints your exact block — whether it’s anxiety, burnout, or paralyzing perfectionism. From there, you get tools that are tailored to your creative type. Tools that actually fit. Tools that actually work.

This isn’t theory. It’s built by a German psychologist & musician, tested on stage, and proven to restore FLOW.

Stop fighting symptoms. Fix the pattern. Play music the way it was meant to be played.

Take the Creative Type Test™ today — and start your path back to flow.

The Creative FLOW Method™

These 4 steps form the backbone of the 10-week Creative FLOW Course — guiding you from awareness to integration and daily FLOW.

Built on science. Proven on stage.

I’m a German psychologist and musician with an academic background in clinical psychology (M.Sc.) and jazz trumpet. I explored and use therapeutic methods from CBT to psychodynamic and systemic frameworks and body-oriented work. At the moment I’m in the process of publishing research on mindfulness.

As a jazz trumpeter and producer, my music has reached over 7 million streams—blending jazz beats with hip hop production.

I’m a member of the Mental Health in Music Association, the German Association of Psychologists (DPTV), German Psychotherapist Network (DPNW) and GEMA.

In recent years, I’ve supported emerging musicians through performance anxiety, creative blocks, early signs of burnout and challenging career decisions. The data confirms what I’ve observed: musicians are up to three times more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression than the general population (Musgrave et al.).

That’s why I created the Creative FLOW Method™—a science-based framework tailored to musicians. Not quick hacks, but grounded tools tested in the studio and on stage.

  • I hold an M.Sc. in Psychology and am currently pursuing advanced postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Building on my academic foundation, I have accumulated over 200 supervised clinical case hours (individual & group supervision) and 1,200 hours of full-time work on an acute psychiatric inpatient ward (closed unit, treating the full spectrum of psychiatric disorders).

Alongside this hands-on clinical practice, I have completed extensive seminars and specialized training, including:

    • Trauma & Crisis: Introduction to trauma therapy I–II, suicidality (psychodynamics & interviewing), crisis intervention.

    • Methods & Tools: Relaxation methods, focusing, body psychotherapy, solution-focused brief therapy, mentalization-based therapy (MBT), systemic therapy (intro; family & couples), CBT (intro I–II), dreams in therapy.

    • Development & Attachment: Attachment-informed technique, early development & regulation, perinatal psychology, psychodynamic child & adolescent psychotherapy (basics & advanced).

    • Context, Ethics & Care: Professional law, ethics, treatment setting, insurance reporting, outpatient care.

    • Disorders: Depression, anxiety & phobias, OCD, personality disorders (borderline level, narcissistic), psychosomatic disorders & pain psychology, addiction, psycho-oncology, psychoanalytic-systemic views on psychosis.

    • Diversity & Culture: Transcultural psychotherapy, discrimination sensitivity in therapy.

    • Groups: Group psychotherapy; extensive group self-experience (ongoing since 2023).

    • Psychodynamics & Technique: Fundamentals of psychodynamic psychotherapy, neurosis theory, therapist–patient relationship, OPD (Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnosis), transference & countertransference, psychoanalytic–interactional method (Heigl-Evers).

    • Diagnostics & Assessment: Psychopathology, ICD/DSM classification, test-based assessment, intake & case history seminars.

Proof from stage and studio

“As a signed artist I constantly struggled with deadlines, procrastination, and facing uncomfortable tasks. What stood out with Tobias was how quickly I felt understood — not just on the surface, but in the deeper patterns behind my struggles. Only after that, he gave me practical strategies I could actually use in my daily routine. That combination of depth and clear tools made me feel both seen and supported in a way I hadn’t experienced before.”

— Johanna, singer

“Working with Tobias gave me clarity and tools that I now use every day. It made me feel more confident and in control of my career.

— Paul, drummer

“I used to procrastinate on the things that mattered most. With Tobias I found ways to structure myself (focus on what matters!) and actually get things done with more ease — and without burning out.”

— Heinrich, singer-songwriter

  • Not much — and less than you think.

    • The program is built for busy musicians.

    • Plan on about 2 hours per week: one short lesson + one practice challenge.

    • If you choose the Group or Maestro path: add a 60-min Coaching Session that gives you expert feedback and real momentum.

    • Everything is designed to fit into your existing practice and rehearsal routine. No extra homework, no wasted time.

👉 The goal isn’t to do more. The goal is to change the patterns that block your flow. Once you shift those loops, you’ll notice: practice feels lighter, performance feels easier, and your confidence grows week by week.

  • Not overnight. But faster than you think — and for reasons that actually make sense.

    • Week 1–2: Relief. The first shift comes from understanding your struggles in context. You’ll see how professional demands and the music system often block core psychological needs (FLOW Needs™) — like security, orientation, or recognition. Realizing that your reactions are a normal response to blocked needs is profoundly relieving. It’s not weakness — it’s human.

    • Week 2–4: Self-Insight. With the Creative Type Test™ and guided reflections, you’ll see your exact mental patterns and your personal Flow Blocks. This isn’t always comfortable — but it’s liberating. Once you understand how your personality responds to pressure and which Flow Needs are being blocked, your struggles finally start to make sense.

Week 4–8: Tools & Change. This is where theory turns into transformation. You’ll unlock a full toolbox of evidence-based methods from psychology and psychotherapy — from acceptance and commitment strategies to mindfulness-based practices and psychodynamic insights. But here’s the difference: you don’t get a random list of techniques. You get the tools that fit your type, aimed directly at your Flow Blocks. That’s why they work. By week 8, practice feels lighter, performance starts to flow, and you’ll notice the first real shift in confidence and ease.

    • Week 8–10: Integration & Future Focus. Here the shift becomes sustainable. You’ll take the tools you’ve learned and embed them into your daily practice, rehearsals, and performances — so they stop being “exercises” and start being your new default. At the same time, you’ll work through an empirically grounded future-structuring process: guided self-reflection that helps you set clear long-term goals and align your career with your Flow Needs. The result? You don’t just fix today’s struggles. You create a foundation for lasting playfulness, flow, and confidence — on stage and beyond.

  • Most “performance coaching” gives you quick hacks: breathe deeper, think positive, push harder. That may help for a day — but it doesn’t solve the real problem.

    This course is different because:

    • Evidence-based psychology. I’m not just a coach. I’m a German depth psychologist (M.Sc.), trained in psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness research, and modern behavioral methods. Every tool in this course is grounded in clinical psychology, not in guesswork.

    • Built for musicians. I’ve lived both worlds: professional jazz musician and mental health expert. The tools are designed around the real pressures of auditions, gigs, deadlines, and creative block — not generic “performance tips.”

    • Structured, not scattered. You don’t get a list of random tricks. You follow a clear, 10-week FLOW™ path — from relief, to self-insight, to change, to long-term integration.

    • Patterns, not symptoms. Most advice treats surface issues (stage fright, procrastination). We go deeper: into the mental loops and Flow Blocks that create those symptoms. Once you change those patterns, everything else shifts.

👉 So if you want motivational fluff, this isn’t for you. If you want a precise, psychology-backed system tailored to musicians — this is the first and only program of its kind.

  • Yes — and for many musicians, that’s a helpful combination.

This program is not therapy. It won’t replace working with your therapist. But it complements therapy extremely well, because it gives you practical, evidence-based tools you can apply directly in practice, rehearsals, and on stage.

If you’re currently in therapy or coaching:

    • Talk to your therapist/coach before starting.

    • Many participants find that the insights and tools from this course actually make their therapy sessions more effective, because they come in with new awareness and language for their struggles.

👉 Think of it like this: therapy helps you heal. This course helps you perform and create in flow. Together, they reinforce each other.

  • No. If you’re struggling with depression, trauma, or severe anxiety, you need therapy. That’s not what this is.

This program is performance training for musicians — psychology-based, evidence-backed, and designed to help you understand your patterns, remove Flow Blocks, and perform with more ease.

If you’re in therapy already, great — many participants find the tools here accelerate their progress. If you’re unsure what’s right for you, just ask me. I’ll tell you straight whether this program makes sense for your situation.

  • Life happens. That’s built into the design.

    • You get lifetime access. Pause, repeat, go at your own pace.

    • In the 1:1 Maestro program, sessions are scheduled around you. If you need to reschedule, we make it work.

    • In the Group Coaching program, missed sessions don’t disappear. You can join the same session in the next round — your access never expires.

👉 In short: nothing is wasted, nothing is lost. The program adapts to you — not the other way around.

  • Think of this as less than the cost of one month of private lessons — but with tools you’ll use for a lifetime.

    SOLO – €300

10 weeks. Lifetime access. About €30 a week — less than a budget lesson on your instrument.

    ENSEMBLE – €600

Everything in SOLO, plus 10× Group Coaching Sessions with me. That’s ten hours of live coaching built on real psychology — not hacks. Normally, one hour at this level costs the same. Here, you get the full system + a group of musicians who keep you accountable.

    MAESTRO – €1,500

Everything in ENSEMBLE, plus 6 private 1:1 sessions with me. For musicians who want tailored 1:1 strategies, with direct psychological expertise on your patterns. You’re buying a complete system for lasting change. If you want the fastest, deepest shift, this is it.

  • Yes. We know finances can be tight in the music world. That’s why every program can also be paid in a payment plan:

    SOLO: 3× $110 or 10× $35

    ENSEMBLE: 3× $210 or 10× $70

    MAESTRO: 3× $520 or 10× $160

  • Yes. If you apply before October 15, 2025, you get a 20 % Early Bird discount on any plan.

→ Example: SOLO becomes just €240 instead of €300.

This offer is limited — after that, the full prices apply.

  • Each group has a maximum of 8 musicians — small enough to stay personal, big enough to feel community. Sessions are live and interactive: I’ll guide you through tools, answer questions, and connect the material to your real challenges.

And no — you never have to share more than you want. Many musicians already benefit just by listening. But the more you engage, the more clarity and support you’ll get.

👉 Think of it as a safe space: professional input, real interaction, and a community that understands the pressures you face.

  • That’s the right question to ask. Most musicians I meet have already tried practicing harder, watching YouTube hacks, or reading self-help books—and nothing really stuck.

This course takes a very distinct approach. Problems, FLOW blocks, and mental struggles need to be understood first—as individually as possible. That’s why we don’t throw random tricks at you.

You begin with the Creative Type Test™ that pinpoints your exact mental loops. From there, you’ll get the right evidence-based tool, backed by psychology research and tested with hundreds of musicians.

And you won’t have to overhaul your life. The modules are short, the exercises fit into daily practice, and you’ll see small wins fast—often within the first three weeks.

Does it work for everyone? No program in the world does. But if you’re willing to try, reflect, and apply, then yes—this will work for you. And if not, you risk nothing.

Flow isn’t luck anymore.

Now it’s a system — and it’s the first evidence-based program built for musicians’ mental health.

Most musicians wait years, hoping things will get better. They don’t. Patterns don’t fix themselves.

The Creative FLOW Method™ gives you the exact tools to break them — so you can perform with confidence, create with ease, and enjoy music the way it was meant to be.
